One Year Old

Madeline Rose is one year old today!

This month has brought many changes for all of us.  She only gets up once in the night for a bottle.  Sometimes she even sleeps for up to 8 hours at a time.

A big change lately is how much she asks for solid foods.  She loves canned carrots, bananas, Cheerios, Life cereal, and bread.  She is really good at feeding herself little bits of food.  And she wants nothing to do with jarred baby food anymore.  Oh, and she signs!  She can do the signs for "eat food," "bottle," and "more."  She picked them up so fast.

Maddy is so mobile.  She spends a lot of time pulling herself up this step.  Coming down is a little trickier.

She goes all over the house now.  She thinks that furniture should move out of her way.  She gets frustrated when it doesn't.

Her mobility makes it easier for her to play with a lot more toys.

She likes it when we stack blocks.  Her favorite part is knocking the stacks over and laughing.

Last week she had a sleep study, the first since we've gotten back to the states.  To put it mildly, she did not like the sleep study.  She was still able to smile when she got home and saw Daddy.  It took several baths to get the glue from the leads out of her hair.

It's really hard to get a picture of her teeth.  Those top two have been there for awhile, and there are two on either side that just popped through.  She has a really sweet toothy grin.

She is such a goof.  She's getting more expressive with her silly faces.  She also delights in grabbing people's glasses off their faces (especially Daddy's).

She is our sunshine girl.

Dont you hate sleep studies!! It's ironic that they call it a "sleep" study cause who's sleeping....honestly!! Our Madilynn has had 4 so far and needs one more in a month or so to see if the decompression surgery got rid of her sleep apnea, cross those fingers!!
