Madeline's birthday was last Tuesday but we waited to have a small party on Friday. So on Tuesday we just had cupcakes. Maddy thought they were delish.
Ben liked the frosting.
The color was a special bonus.
Then on Friday we had Eric and Kara over to celebrate with the four of us and Nana and Pap-Pap.
The cake was chocolate (we thought it was going to be yellow) so Maddy just had ice cream.
She was cool with that.
Ben said "cheese" but refused to look at the camera. It was a running theme the whole week of Thanksgiving.
Ben helped to open presents for Maddy, which was almost as good as actually getting presents himself. His birthday is in one month and it can't come fast enough because all he talks about is his birthday and Christmas. Presents, presents, presents. And cake.
A purple mini sock monkey, one of her favorite gifts.
An interactive puppy from Aunt Katie and Uncle Brian. Ben kind of hijacked this one.
Wobbly things that make clacking sounds when shaken, and she can hit them together. They're loud but at least they don't use batteries. I didn't include photos of all the presents here, but she also got quite the collection of clothing from Nana and Pap-Pap. They found lots of adorable stuff including a Winnie the Pooh snowsuit and a ruffly white winter coat. She is officially ready for her first Ohio winter.
