Sure, he looks adorable to me...but the sight of Benjamin now instills fear into the heart of our cat. Now that Benjamin is crawling, Calvin is constantly on the alert.

Pretty sure seeing Calvin is what got Benjamin to crawl down the hallway.

Making a careful but quick escape.

Not only does Ben like to grab Calvin's afghan (seen on the chair) but he has discovered the joy of kicking the wicker chair that Calvin uses for naps. He can even push the chair with his feet so that the side is lifted off the ground a few inches. As seen above, Calvin has figured out who is rocking his world, and he is not thrilled.

The idea to make a tent out of the playmats was Nana's. Pure genius.

He has had this caterpillar since this summer (from Nana), but Benjamin has just recently figured out that it makes lots of neat noises, plays songs, and has many little toys attached. He can't push the right spots to make the sounds yet, but he has found that crawling over it sometimes works.

Last week we had the family of one of Mike's co-workers over for dinner. Benjamin loved the company...

and the toys they brought with them. He looks so much older playing with the older boys! Makes me happy and sad at the same time.

Poor Calvin! From predator to prey in an instant! It's nice to see children grow and change, but as you are finding out, it can be bittersweet. I still cherish the memories though, of the things I was able to do and enjoy with both of you girls, at least for a time.
You and Mike are doing a great job of raising Benjamin in a secure home where he is able to interact with other people. He'll benefit in the future. Love, Dad
Ben is so adorable Sarah....don't doubt it for a minute!
Poor, poor Calvin....doesn't look like he's gonna be "king of the jungle" for much longer, LOL!
