Father's Day

Mike's still out of town, so we won't get to celebrate his first Father's Day until late tomorrow.

Yesterday afternoon a storm was blowing in, so I took Benjamin outside to see the sky and trees in the wind before it started raining. He doesn't gasp in the wind as badly as when he was a newborn, but it still throws him for a loop.
Staring at the tree blowing in the wind.

Ready to pop himself out of the Bumbo seat. His onesie says "Heartbreaker," by the way.

So pleased with himself after wiggling out of his wrap during a nap. He likes to turn himself on his side (still in the wrap) and look at the aquarium on the other side of the crib.

This week I tried a strategy from the Baby Whisperer to get him to sleep better at night and take better naps during the day. My main goal was to stop the feedings in the middle of the night, and so far so good. He has only woken up a little during the night and goes back to sleep pretty easily. He is eating a bit better during the day, but his naps aren't nearly long enough - at first his naps were great, but now he sleeps for 30-45 minutes and then won't go back to sleep. Like right now. Hopefully that will work itself out once this is an established routine. Things are looking up!

Great expressions on the little guy! I sure do like his smile. It's very engaging. Bet Mike is thrilled today just thinking about you and Benjamin. Conratulations Mike. Love, Dad

It was great to finally see a picture of you, sarah. You are so talented--holding Ben and taking a picture at the same time. Ben's cheek seems to be healing ok. Keep up the good work of getting him on a schedule. You are doing great. See you soon, Love, Mom
