Tummy time is finally fun!

This was a big week for Benjamin - he rolled all the way over, from his front to his back! I put him down for tummy time, and instead of fussing he propped himself up on his arms. I was impressed by just that, but after a few moments (and some grunting) he pushed himself over. We soon discovered he can roll in either direction, he just can't roll from his back to his tummy yet. On his playmat, and not miserable.
Before the roll...
...and after. Still looking at the fish.
One more futile attempt to carry him in the carrier, this time with him facing forward. I thought he might like this more than facing in - he did, for about five minutes, and then the hollering and squirming started. He gnawed on the fabric the whole time. I'm looking into getting a hip carrier 'cause this front carrier is just not working out. Sigh.
Some really cute Daddy time. Benjamin had been on his side facing Mike, which was even cuter, but as soon as he saw the camera he had to turn & look at it.
A different kind of tummy time.

Hopefully in the next few days we will be shopping for an exersaucer, something that will keep him occupied while he's upright. He's quickly becoming mobile, and we can't turn away for a moment. I think he'd really like something that would let him bounce because those little legs are always moving.

Despite his immense cuteness this week, I was still exasperated in a few ways. Normally, he loves himself some grocery shopping. This week, he fussed in the cart until I took him out of the carrier and held him while I pushed the cart and shopped. Not an easy task. He has also been busting out of every blanket we swaddle him in. And that Bumbo seat apparently isn't enough to hold him, either. I put him in it on the dining room floor while I tried to cook dinner, and he wiggled a few times, arched his back, and popped his bottom right out of that thing. He's really keeping us on our toes. I cringe to think of him crawling! I'll have to buy roller skates to keep up with him.

Since my response never appeared I'll do this again. I remember a little girl who when in the stroller wanted carried and when carried wanted in the stroller! It gives parents something to talk about years later. Love, Dad
