My First Mother's Day
I just had to brag on Mike a little for his Mother's Day gifts: I got cards, flowers, dinner, and chocolates. He pulled out all the stops. Of course he gave me a card, but Benjamin also "signed" one (apparently he likes grabbing pens as much as he likes grabbing everything else lately). Mike made a seafood chowder recipe that's one of my favorite foods, accompanied by a loaf of sourdough bread. But that was just the first course - the main course was scallops in white wine sauce with a side of gnocchi. Yummy! And the chocolates: Godiva truffles. No need to elaborate on that one.
This was actually taken on Saturday, I think. This kid makes a million different faces, except for when he's looking at the camera, and then we get the "huh?" face.
Mommy getting a break while Daddy played with Benjamin. We're still keeping time in the jumper to a minimum until he gets used to it.
Mike looking at Benjamin looking at Calvin looking at Mike. Calvin takes opportunities when Benjamin is in the jumper to sniff (and tickle) his little toes.

OK, Mike needs to educate all the other dads in the world. That's really amazing. I did get a nice gift which was surprising considering how frantic our life seems to be with a new baby and a not-so-down-with-that almost 3 year old.
Well girl, you certainly did deserve an awesome Mother's day as you are an awesome mother. Way to go Mike! Your blog and video e-mails keep me going. thanks sooo much! Love to all, Mom
Thanks for giving such a nice first Mothers Day to Sarah, Mike. You guy's make such a great family group! Glad to see Calvin adopt an "I know my place" attitude. Benjamin may frequently display the "huh?" face but you can bet there is a lot of thought going on in that little head. Keep the updates coming. We never get enough! Love, Dad
