Update on Moving!

We finally have some details nailed down about our move back to the states.

• Movers will finish packing our household goods on July 20th.  
• We will stay in a German hotel with one bedroom between then and our departure.  
• We are scheduled to fly back on an early-morning military flight on Monday, July 25th.
• Our flight is into Baltimore, and my parents were kind enough to rent a large vehicle to pick us up (we'll have a LOT of stuff...we're not on vacation, we're moving!)
• We'll spend some time in south-central Pennsylvania visiting family and friends, then drive to our destination in Dayton, Ohio.

We don't have details yet on our stay in PA.  It's kind of a challenge for a family of four (including little kids with weird sleep schedules) to find a comfortable place to stay.  I don't want to just invite myself to someone's house, and we know from past experience that we'll only be able to stay in a hotel for so long before we start to lose our minds.  So we'll have to keep the trip short, maybe 5 days.  Not sure how close to E-town we'll be, I'm hoping to find a hotel not too far away because there are lots of people we want to see.  I'm planning on boarding the cat at a kennel and hoping he doesn't self-destruct.  My parents can lend us a car until we find one to buy soon after we arrive.

The next few weeks are going to be C-R-A-Z-Y.  Most people here get 3-5 months' notice when moving...we have 3 weeks.  We've had lots of help here in Germany, both from Mike's co-workers and friends and from sympathetic people involved with our outprocessing (trust me, there have been plenty of uncooperative people, too).  I'm hoping we make it across the pond in one piece and have just as much luck on the other side.

We're really looking forward to seeing our stateside friends and family soon!
