Okay, so we didn't give him actual barbeque...but he did eat some sides. Here he is dining on sweet potatoes and mac & cheese. I promise, some of it got in his mouth - not just on his face, clothes, and high chair.

Anyone who knows Aunt Katie, knows this face. He eyed the sweet potatoes suspiciously, but he ended up eating them.

This was the best angle to show the cheese he got on the side of his head & all in his hair. Also, notice the macaroni noodles on the tray have been completely wiped clean of cheese. Hence the hair cheese.

Eating leftover cornbread. I think he would've eaten the whole mini-loaf if we had let him.

In contrast, here he is eating some of my homemade sweet potatoes earlier in the week. Just a simple mash. Which he did not like very much. Notice the lack of orange on his face and clothing. I am trying to give him more homemade foods & less stuff from a jar. I am also trying to get over my fear of not giving him adequate nourishment, which is why I left that up to the professionals at Gerber for so long. However, we're giving him more table food, and I just bought a food mill that should help us broaden his menu. Better late than never.

Fort Benjamin becomes Fort Calvin during naptime.

I was trying to get a good picture of this cute outfit, but instead I got a picture of him eating yet another toy and sticking his feet in a bucket.

Pondering what part of Daddy's face to grab & twist. He ended up going for the ear.
Benjamin has been quite the little darling lately. He's pleasant around other people, and he's great when I take him in the car to run errands. We even had a successful trip to the grocery store yesterday - he sat in the cart and only tried to get out once! He's pleased as punch that he can move around the house so quickly. He does tend to get upset when things are taken away from him, like the remote control: no more remotes for him, he bit a button off of one of them and tried to eat it. But when he crawls someplace he shouldn't be and gets whisked away, he pretty much faces it and plays somewhere else.
He reached another milestone tonight: he pulled himself up! He was playing in the living room, then all of a sudden crawled to the recliner and got himself standing up. It was a bit of a struggle, but boy was he happy when he got there.

He sure has a good time with life. If he's starting to stand can walking be far behind? Love, Dad
