Kneeling

Benjamin finally started trying to pull himself up this week. He started out supporting himself on really low things, and now...well, see for yourself.

Pushing buttons & turning the volume knob on the DVD player.

Finding a DVD case. Which he then chewed until the plastic tore & the paper insert started to fall apart. He has done this with several cases. Time to move everything up.

Having a field day with the books on Daddy's baseball bookshelf.

He started crawling over everything in sight, so I pulled out this pillow...he acted like it was as exciting as a jungle gym.

Gnawing on his new shape-sorter toy. No actual sorting of shapes has taken place yet. But he does love to bang the shapes on the lid.

Crawling over things in the dining room. One time he crawled over the two rungs under one of the chairs, but he did it so fast that he was back on the floor by the time I snapped the picture.

Mmmm, chair...when I wasn't looking he left some pretty good teeth marks here.

He is crawling underneath the dining room table a lot lately. There's old Cheerios plus lots of furniture to crawl over and eat. What's not to love?

Our friends John & Neena were gracious enough to babysit last night so that Mike & I could go out to dinner. We took Benjamin to their house. Neena, who has several grandkids, already had a bunch of toys that I'm sure he loved. They said he was just great and hardly fussed...except for when we came to pick him and he started crying! He had skipped his catnap and was exhausted. As expected, he woke up a bit last night (he always does that after a stressful day). He really seemed to like his sitters, though...they said he wasn't scared of them at all, which is a relief. They offered to watch him again, and we will definitely be taking them up on that offer.
